4-Day Gombe Chimpanzee Trekking & Nature Experiances

Upon arrival at Arusha Airport (ARK), Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), Moshi town, or Arusha city, you will be warmly welcomed by our Company representative. After a short briefing, you’ll be assisted with your transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Dar es Salaam. On arrival in Dar, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation, where you will have dinner and an overnight stay. Allowing you to unwind and settle in after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may also take a short walk or relax in the hotel facilities.

Also, if you are in Dar es Salaam, no problem, it will be convenient and nice as you will start your journey the next day for your scheduled flight to Kigoma.

After breakfast at the hotel in Dar es Salaam, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Kigoma. Upon arrival, you’ll head to you will proceed to Kibirizi Port to board a boat across Lake Tanganyika to Gombe National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a hot lunch at the rest house, before heading out on your first chimpanzee & Gorilla trekking experience, guided by park rangers through the lush forest.

In the evening, you’ll return for dinner and an overnight stay at your accommodations, deep in the heart of chimpanzee country.

Optional activity:
On arrival at Kigoma Airport, you will be transferred to Ujiji village, where you will visit Dr. Livingstone’s memorial for cultural experience and the history of the slave trade.

After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on an unforgettable chimpanzee & gorilla trekking adventure through the lush valleys and ancient forest trails of Gombe. Immerse yourself in the sounds and sights of the wild as you explore different valleys in search of our closest relatives, the playful and intelligent chimpanzees. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a scenic hike to the beautiful Mkenge Waterfall, a hidden gem nestled deep within the forest.

By midday, you’ll return to camp for a delicious lunch and a chance to relax. In the late afternoon, you’ll pack up and transfer back to Kigoma town, where you’ll enjoy a hearty dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

After an early breakfast at your accommodation, you’ll be transferred to the airport in Kigoma for your flight to Dar es Salaam.

From here, you have two options:

1. Upon arrival in Dar, you’ll enjoy a short city tour (time permitting), where you can explore key highlights such as the National Museum, Kivukoni Fish Market, or a stroll along the Indian Ocean waterfront. This is a great chance to absorb some of the city’s coastal culture and history.

2. End of Safari in Dar es Salaam – We can transfer you to your hotel or Julius Nyerere International Airport for your onward journey.
