11-Day Serengeti, Ngorongoro & Tarangire Tour

After an early breakfast in Arusha, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to the Northern Serengeti. Enjoy spectacular aerial views of the Great Rift Valley and the endless Serengeti plains as you fly into one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife areas. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your guide and enjoy a game drive en route to your tented camp, keeping an eye out for elephants, giraffes, lions, and, in season, the great wildebeest migration near the Mara River. After lunch and a short rest at camp, head out again for an afternoon game drive to explore the northern reaches of the park. Return to camp in time to relax around the campfire before dinner and overnight at Serengeti Mara River Camp.

Spend this full day exploring the wildlife-rich Northern Serengeti. After an early breakfast, head out on a game drive across open plains and along wooded riverbanks, where you may encounter elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, and big herds of buffalo. In season, this area is the heart of the great migration, and you’ll search for vast columns of wildebeest and zebra as they move between grazing areas and the Mara River.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot in the park before continuing your game drive in the afternoon, following predator tracks and visiting hippo pools and lookout points. As the light softens towards evening, return slowly to your camp, with game viewing along the way. Arrive in time to relax, enjoy sundowners, and share stories around the campfire before dinner and overnight at your tented camp in the Northern Serengeti.

After breakfast at Serengeti Mara River Camp, depart on a leisurely game drive as you begin your journey from the Northern Serengeti towards the central plains. You’ll follow the Mara and Grumeti ecosystems south, crossing open savannahs and woodland where you may encounter elephants, giraffes, prides of lion, and, in season, scattered herds of the great migration. This is a beautiful drive that doubles as an extended game drive, with plenty of opportunities to stop for photos.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot in the park before continuing towards the Seronera and Namiri Plains area, known for its big cats and resident wildlife year-round. Arrive at Namiri Plains Camp in the late afternoon, in time to settle into your tent, relax with sundowners, and soak in the views before dinner and overnight inside the heart of the Serengeti.

Spend this full day discovering the wildlife-rich plains of the Central Serengeti. After an early breakfast at Namiri Plains Camp, you’ll head out on a game drive across rolling grasslands and rocky kopjes, a landscape famous for its big cats. This area offers excellent year‑round viewing of lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as large herds of zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, and giraffe.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot in the park, taking time to soak up the sweeping views and listen to the sounds of the bush. In the afternoon, continue your game drive, following predator tracks, visiting hippo pools, and pausing at viewpoints for photos. As the sun begins to set, you’ll slowly make your way back to camp, game viewing along the way. Arrive in time to relax, enjoy sundowners, and share stories around the campfire before dinner and overnight at Namiri Plains Camp in the Central Serengeti.

Start before dawn for a hot-air balloon flight over the Central Serengeti, watching wildlife from above before a bush breakfast. Later, enjoy a game drive in the Seronera area, famous for big cats and large herds, then return to Namiri Plains Camp for sundowners and dinner.

After breakfast at Namiri Plains Camp, depart the Central Serengeti on a final game drive as you travel towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll cross sweeping grasslands and acacia woodlands, with chances to spot lions, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants, and plains game along the way. This scenic journey doubles as an extended game drive, with time for photo stops.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch en route before reaching the Ngorongoro highlands and ascending the outer slopes of the crater, enjoying magnificent views back over the Serengeti plains. In the afternoon, arrive at your lodge on or near the crater rim, where you can relax, take in the cool highland air, and prepare for tomorrow’s game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater.

Enjoy a leisurely morning overlooking the Rift Valley escarpment or take an optional short walk around the grounds. Then depart by 4×4 towards Tarangire National Park, watching village life and Maasai homesteads along the way. Arrive at Tarangire in time for a game drive as you enter the park, following the Tarangire River and famous baobab‑studded plains.

This park is known for its large elephant herds, big buffalo, zebras, and a variety of antelopes, as well as lions and rich birdlife. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot before continuing your game drive en route to camp. In the late afternoon, arrive at your Tarangire lodge or tented camp, where you can relax, enjoy sundowners, and listen to the sounds of the bush before dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, set at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. On arrival, enjoy a game drive through groundwater forests, open plains, and along the lakeshore. This small but beautiful park is famous for its large elephant herds, tree‑climbing lions, troops of baboons, and diverse birdlife, including flamingos when conditions allow.

You’ll have a picnic lunch at a scenic spot and continue exploring in the afternoon, watching for giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and hippos near the water. As the light softens, you’ll leave the park and drive to your lodge in the nearby highlands around Karatu. Arrive in time to relax, enjoy dinner, and overnight at Elewana The Manor at Ngorongoro (or a similar lodge in the Manyara area).

After a relaxed breakfast at your lodge in Tarangire or the Karatu highlands, enjoy a final morning taking in the views and, time permitting, a short game drive or walk around the grounds. Then depart by road towards Arusha, passing Maasai villages, farmland and the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Arrive in Arusha by late morning or early afternoon.

After an early breakfast, depart for Arusha National Park, a scenic reserve at the foot of Mount Meru. On arrival, you join a guided bush walk with an armed ranger, offering a unique chance to experience the African bush on foot, learn about animal tracks and plants, and enjoy close views of giraffes and other plains game.

After the walk, continue with a game drive through the forest, open glades, and around the Momella Lakes. You may see colobus monkeys, zebras, buffaloes, and abundant birdlife, with clear days offering views of both Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before slowly driving back to Arusha.

After breakfast, enjoy some free time at your hotel in Arusha, depending on your flight schedule. You may relax, shop for souvenirs, or reflect on your safari adventure. At the appropriate time, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your Tanzania safari.
